Seth Hayden EDCI 270 April 30, 2014 Project Narrative I had never created a website before or compiled

an entire semesters worth of work in one place like this. Even though I had never done this before I thought that the project was set up to make it fairly easy for us to complete. Over the course of the semester I think that my work improved drastically. I think that starting with the badges was a great idea because it eased us into the process so that when we got to the project we felt comfortable. At the start of the semester I had no idea how much we actually did in this class, so having a place like this to compile it all was a life saver. I think that this project taught me that we all improve over time. By having us put our badges and cases side by side we can see just how much better we got each time. By seeing how I was improving it pushed me to do even better! Another thing that this project taught me was making your work look presentable. Its one thing to just throw everything you do onto a website, but its another to make it all look good. By adding the visual appeal aspect of the project it forced us to make sure our site look presentable. If we cant make a website look presentable there is no way that we could make ourselves seem presentable for a job. By forcing us to put forth a professional persona with this project it is letting us practice for our future careers as teachers. Once we are teachers I think that a project could be integrated into our classes. Having a project with so many milestones can take a semesters worth of work and make it seem manageable. Maybe not in my particular field, math, but in other subjects something like this

could work wonders! I had classes that did so many projects it was hard to keep them all straight. Not even from a teachers viewpoint but from a college students perspective this is still a great idea. With all the different classes we have to take, having a place like this could be a great way to stay organized and on top of things. The only change I would have made to this project would be the point distribution. Since the whole project technically wasnt due until the last week of the semester, sometimes my motivation to work on it was pretty low. If the points were spread out over the course of the semester I think that I would have been more motivated to work on it. Besides that small part I think that this project was extremely effective and I think that I learned a lot from it. ISTE Standards that this project addressed were 1.
