PE OBSERVATION 2


Our names are Melissa and Christina. These are the schools we visited and the reasons why we
visited them. Melissa visited Bethesda Christian Schools PE during their 2
nd
grade period. Melissa chose
this school because it was the school she graduated from and wanted to observe the way they ran their
PE class. Christina visited Noblesville middle School during the 6
th
grade gym period. Christina chose this
school because her daughter attends there in the 7
th
grade.
There were a few similarities between the two schools that we visited. The first similarity is that
both teachers counted off the students for the game. The second similarity is that all the students wore
gym shoes. Another similarity is that they both played active games which involved running and
throwing. Both schools held their PE classs in the afternoon. The PE students knew to line up at the end
of each class to head back with their teacher. Both gym teachers had whistles to help control the
students.
We found that there were many differences between the PE classs because they were different
grades and one school was private and the other public. Bethesda does not require uniforms, Noblesville
does require uniforms with their shirts tucked in at all times. Bethesda has only one gym teacher, and
Noblesville has two gym teachers. Bethesda prayed before they started their class and also did a small
Bible study. Noblesville stretched at the beginning of the class and ran a lap around the gym to warm up.
Noblesville separated the boys from the girls and Bethesda had the students play together.
