The “Make Your Own Soundtrack for Macbeth” Project

Due Dates:
November 10, 2009
Note: No projects will be accepted after 11/12/2009. They will be taken late by that day for a 25
point deduction.

Materials:
1. Internet Access
2. Music
3. Computer
4. Markers/colored pencils

What you will do:

Your task is to create a soundtrack for Macbeth with at least 10 songs.
You should have 2 songs per act (5 acts x 2 songs = 10).
If you want, and have the ability to do so, actually making the soundtrack on CD/Tape will demonstrate
good effort.

On a piece of paper, type all titles and performers for each song, in the order they appear.
Include a brief reason why each song fits into the play; this should be two or three sentences.
Include where the song fits into the play; give the act and scene number, and explain the action occurring
when the song would be playing. You must also create the album artwork that illustrates the play (in your
eyes). This should be in color! This can be in the CD case, should you make the CD, or it can simply be
done on a sheet of white printer paper.

How I will be grading the project:

10 songs – 20 points
Titles/performers with GOOD reasons for song inclusion – 20 points
WHERE does the song fit in – 20 points
Cover art fits into play and you put effort into it (do NOT just print a picture from the internet) – 20 points
Neatness/Typing/Grammar/Effort – 20 points

Extra Credit?
I will give you 2 extra points for each song you include beyond the minimum ten.
These songs must be included on your title/reason sheet.
Five extra songs is the limit. (for a maximum of 10 extra points.)
