following questions to get started.

After you have completed this worksheet you should start the rough draft
and/or storyboard.
1. What is the setting?
2. Who is/are the main characters? Are they human, animal or something
else?
3. What are the main characters names?
4. What is the conict in the story? (Is the character looking for something?
Lost? Etc.)
5. Who is your intended audience? All girls? Boys? Both?
6. What is the moral of the story?
Day 2 Rough Draft (READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE STARTING!!!)

Today you need to write the rough draft of the story.

Keep in mind, you will have a minimum of 2 sentences per page.

Keep the sentences basic!!!

Refer to your questions from Day 1 to create your sentences.

Email me your sentences at the end of the period on Day 2. If you want
me to check them, ask me with plenty of time left in the period.

Label each of your sentences by the page number on which that sentence
will appear.
Day 3 Storyboard (READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE STARTING!!!)

Today you need to create a series of hand draw sketches in order of how
your story will progress.

It does need to be colored as well so you can have an idea of how you
want the nished story to look.

Dont forget you need a minimum of 14 pictures (cover page, 12 inside

pages, back cover)

You do not need to write the sentences on the storyboard, but using
bullet points may help you stay organized.
Day 4 Final draft of story/Peer Review (READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE
STARTING!!!)

Make corrections to the sentences you turned in last class.

Double check your spelling and grammar.

Make sure all your sentences are in the preterit or imperfect tense.

Find other groups to read your story. Since it is written for young
children, it should make sense to them. If they can tell you what the
story is about (without your help) then you have done well. Have at least
three di!erent groups read your story.
Day 5 Putting it all together (READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE
STARTING!!!)

Incorporate your nal draft sentences into your book.

This is the last day so make any nal adjustments to sentences and
images that you feel are needed.

FINAL STEP: E-MAIL ME A COPY OF THE STORY!
