NO MAKE-UP QUIZ!!!
If a student teacher is absent and provides a Doctors note, they are required to make
up two (2) days.
If a perfect score of 100% is earned on the student handbook, the Student Teacher
will not have to make up the two (2) days that follow an absence of teaching.
Provide Revised Student Teacher Handbook & Syllabus (20 min)

Temperatures part--- Part 1 (20 min.)
Da Hae: During this Student teaching experience, she will be teaching 5th grade. She
shared that students come to school with I Pads. She explained that this is a good thing
for her so that she is able to integrate technology.
Raissa: During this Student Teaching experience, she will be teaching 4th grade at Oleai
Elementary School. She learned the classroom procedure and rules. She also shared a
classroom management tool her cooperating teacher utilizes in her classroom. Classroom
Dojo is an application that allows the user to create seating arrangement. From this app,
the teacher is able to monitor rewards and consequences--- an excellent way to utilize
technology. When this is used in the classroom, there is a sound notification. This sound
signals someone in class is receiving points. When a student has earned a total of 40
points, they are rewarded with a test pass---incentive. She also participated in the
schools Walk for Life where thy walked from the school along beach road.
Arayanee: During this Student Teaching experience, she will be teaching 4
th
grade at
Koblerville Elementary. She explained that she prefers fourth grade rather than first
grade. She also shared that her cooperating teacher is very open. Also, classroom
management is going to be challenge.
Hejin: During this Student Teaching experience, she will be teaching 1
st
grade at
Koblerville Elementary school. She shares that although first grade content is easier, first
grade students are harder to manage. Also, she has to tie students shoes. She has been
advised to give students the eyeball if they are getting out of line.
Holly: During this Student Teaching experience, she will be teaching 5
th
grade at
Koblerville Elementary School. She was able to learn the classroom procedures and rules.
She has gotten to know students during the observation week. During her observations,
her cooperating teacher was conducting BRI Testing, as well as, STAR Math and STAR
Reading.
Rita: During this Student Teaching experience, she will be teaching 6
th
grade at
Koblerville Elementary School, mentored by Mrs. Val Mendiola. She shared that she was
interviewed on Monday and began her observation on Tuesday. She was very nervous on
her first day of observation. She is still trying to adjust and feel comfortable. She
mentioned that her cooperating teacher is very professional and is an awesome teacher.
Victoria: During this Student Teaching experience, she will be teaching Kindergarten.
She explains the big difference between her previous practicum where she was teaching

grade. She has yet to start observations.
Bonny: During this Student Teaching experience, I will be teaching 4
th
grade at
Koblerville Elementary School. On the very first day of Week 1-Observation week, I was
able to learn every students name and their assigned seating. I also learned a new
attention getter, Get REAL, Get Ready Everybody And Listen.

For those who were not able to submit Be Blunts today, Friday, January 10, 2014 they
must submit it now, in class.
Late submission will not be penalized due to unfamiliarity of Google Drive
Sign-up for Facilitation & Recording of Seminars (10 min.) --- Next Week
Seminars are mandatory.
Sign-up for weekly Recorder and Facilitator will take place next week, Friday,
January 17, 2014.
Student Teachers are required to record and facilitate at least once during student
teaching experience.
Expectations will also be shared next week, January 17, 2014.

For those who submitted it today, thank you.
For those yet to submit this form, please have your cooperating teacher fill-out the
form that can be found in your handbook and submit during next meeting.
Announcements: (5 min.)
Letter to Parents need to be signed by: you(student teacher), your cooperating
teacher, the school principal and your supervisor (Mrs. Amanda Angel-Diaz/ Ms.
Rose Cepeda)
Police Clearance for PSS HRO is valid for one (1) year.
If your Police clearance is subject to expire anytime during Student Teaching
experience, be sure to renew prior to that time.
Wrap-Up/ Reminders (5 min.)
Next Student Teaching Seminar:
January 17, 2014, at 5 to 7p.m. in room V15 (Tentatively)
SEMINARS AR MANDATORY AND STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO
ATTEND THE ENTIRE TIME. (IT IS NOT OPTIONAL)

Intervention
Everybody has a different path.
If supervisors are concern you will receive a text, call, and emails.
Intervention is not just a negative thing but can also be very positive.
It is a way for supervisors to provide extra support in areas they feel is needed, think
of it as tutoring student teachers.
Intervention is not shared during Student Teaching Seminars.
It is only between the student teacher and the student teachers supervisors.
If suggestion or concerns are not followed or taken into consideration, student teacher
may fail the course. Student Teaching will have to retake the course.

Concerns
If an emergency occurs, contact your supervisor and cooperating teacher. If
supervisor does not respond right away be sure to at least inform your cooperating
teacher and gain their approval. This will show initiative was taken.
If there is something you are concerned about, with lesson planning, relationship with
cooperating teacher, never be afraid to inform supervisors.

Student Teachers teach one lesson during this week.
Week 16- Transition back
Student Teachers are not teaching anymore.
Student Teachers will observe during this week.
Focus should be on E-Portfolios and I-Movies.
