During this semester and threw this class I have learned a lot. This semester has taught me nothing comes easy in life and hard work pays off. Ive learned so much inside and outside the classroom over these few months it amazes me. Through Film and culture I have gained and a better understanding of team work, a better understanding of other ethnicities, the hard work films take, how they are made, and there significance in our culture. This course has helped me see the value in team work. In class we had many group discussion and online discussions and did group work; I feel they really helped me see different perspectives and opened my mind to different things. I really like the discussions online and in class because it helped me engage more in what we were talking about, plus it was nice to rant about the movies whether good or bad to others with the same feelings. I feel like doing group work made me appreciate others input more and be a better student. This team work also helped us get a better understanding of films; they take so much work and collaboration. We learned about all the aspects of film and how they are made. During this course I have gotten a better understanding of different ethnicities and how our culture views them. I learned about how different ethnicities and how people are represented in film and then in real life. I think a big thing I got from this course is along Samantha Johnson Film and Culture Reflection
that line; from this course Ive seen how media truly affects reality and how people are treated. We see how important films are to our culture by how they make people perceive certain ideals. Such as how the Native Americans are thought of to be savages because of movies like Fort Apache and Peter Pan. By studying films we can see the affects they have on our society. This course was very interesting and I enjoyed very much. It taught me so much and not just classroom stuff but things I can take outside of the classroom. It taught me team work, to analyze things, realize the affects of film, and how films relate to diversity, culture and my life.
