Dear Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association,

I am writing to apply for the Watershed Institute Coordinator position posted on your job
board. I believe my education and prior work experiences have given me skills appropriate for
this job. I also think that my style of work ethic, enthusiam, organization, and professionalism
would fit in well at the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association.

I have been receiving an excellent education in the environmental science department at the
University of Idaho for the past 4 years. There I gained a variety of skill sets and experiences in
environmental science issues and water resource management. My studies primarily consisted
of classes involving water resources, soils, climate change, and natural resource policy. I have
been a leader on numerous group projects involving ecosystem studies and outreach programs.

I have spent a significant amount of time developing skills to work in collaborative
environments with individuals across multiple disciplines. I also have spent time developing
personal skills in organization and management.

When it comes to working individually or collaborativly, I am somewhat of a perfectionist. I
take great pride in doing tasks to the best of my ability in the most efficient manner possible. I
work well with others and am open to opinions and concerns in the work place to ensure
proper communication among employees. I enjoy finding new problems and applying critical
thinking skills to solve the problem to the best of my ability. I am able to work well within time
constraints to meet deadlines. I believe these skills are necessary for a management position
like this.

Seasonally, I have worked around water resources when school was not in session. I believe I
understand the importance and impacts water resources will have environmentally now and in
the future. I would greatly enjoy devoting my time and effort to this company.
