For this standard I have created a video used to describe and demonstrate the uses for
technology in a physical education classroom !uring the video my group members and I
demonstrate ho" to set up the My Mio #eart $ate Monitor and ho" to use it to keep track of
your heart rate% & of heart rate% ma' heart rate% and calories burned (his information "ould
then be used to assess the student)s activity level on a day to day basis and be used to give them
a final grade along "ith a variety of different assessment tools

use different technological devices to assess and encourage students to improve and remain
active throughout each class period 3y also using other technological devises similar to the one
sho"n in during the video I "ill also be able to help encourage students remain active outside of
school and into their personal lives

and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous

standard eight because throughout the video I provide different "ays that a teacher could use the
device to assess their students activity level throughout every class period (his artifact sho"s
my ability to find a reliable type of assessment that I could to use throughout my teaching
career (his type of assessment "ould provide a nonbiased result that could then be used "ith a
combination of different assessment to evaluate a student)s performance throughout the school

From these e'periences I feel that I have learned that because students perform at a
variety of different levels they must be assessed accorded to their different levels and abilities
(his allo"s me to document each student)s improvement and assess them on that improvement
It also sho"s ho" important it is to hold the students accountable for the o"n performance and
assessment

After completing this artifact I feel that it has sho"n me that by using different
assessment devices and technology I "ill able to better assess my future students (his "ill
