- Students will color according to answers on their worksheets.

- Objectives:
o Students will practice adding and subtracting with numbers
between 1 to 12.
- Hook:
o Alright, please listen up for what math center you will be going
to. When I tell you where you are going, grab your math box
and take a seat at your table.
- Behavior Expectations:
o Students should be working at their table.
Students can talk and work cooperatively with peers,
but should not be turned around or walking around
talking to peers at other centers.
o Students should give it their best effort. Teachers are there to
help but students must also work to find answers and work through
problems.

Procedures: Include critical thinking questions and accommodations for individual
needs
- Dismissal from carpet
o Alright, please listen up for what math center you will be going
to. When I tell you where you are going, grab your math box
and take a seat at your table.
o Call tables and students

a seat.
- Students settle into centers
o Distribute math buckets to each table
Call on one student from each table to get the bucket
and return to their table.

o Focus on working with the students in the blue group.
o For students who are still developing in addition and
subtraction, offer visuals (coins, fingers, etc.

Summary/Closing:
- Clean up
o Clapping sequence to get students attention
o Please get your centers cleaned up, and ready to go to
specials.
o Call a student from each table to return their buckets to the
math shelf.
- Return to nametags
o Dismiss each table, by who is showing expected behaviors, to
line up.
o Walk students down to specials.
Student Assessment:
- Were the students able to complete the procedure for the color by
numbers sheet?
- How much support was need for each student?
o Did he or she use manipulatives?
o Did he or she use mental math?
- What methods were used?
