Between Four Private Burger Specialty restaurants in the Denton Area

Executive Summary

With the amount of private specialty burger restaurants arriving around the Denton County area
they are providing a divide between them and the mainstream chain restaurants such as Five
Guys, Mooyas, etc. Between the new private burger joints 4 stand out as the go-to places to be
in the Denton area those are RG Burgers, Burger Time Machine, Central Grill, and LSA Burgers.
We are deciding to create distinguishing criteria between the four to decide which of them is the
best overall. The Criteria includes overall taste, speed of service, quality of service, price, and
cleanliness. Between our group members we physically went out to evaluate each of the
restaurants on a 5 point scale of each of the criteria. After evaluating the end result we will
provide recommendations to our audience to help them decide upon their next good burger
Introduction

With the fact that there are more specialty burger places popping out around town, but where can
you get the best burger for your buck plus get a better experience then all the other specialty
burger place around Denton. With this feasibility study we went out to four specialty burger
place that around the University of North Texas, which include LAS Burger, RG Burger, Center
Grill, and Burger Time Machine. These four restaurants where evaluate on five categories that
we thought made a restaurant better than the rest, these evaluations include overall taste of the
burger, speed of service, quality of service, price, and the cleanliness of the restaurant itself.
These rating were made in a scale of one to five, one standing for worst and five being the best.

The criteria value is from 1 to 5. 1 means very dissatisfied, 2 means dissatisfied, 3 means neither
satisfied nor dissatisfied, 4 means satisfied and 5 means very satisfied.

This analysis is based on field data obtained by our group members. The judgment is based on
individual opinion and does not represent any industry standard. Our criteria is believed to be the
common interest of customers of these restaurants. The grading scale is of equal magnitude for
all categories. Our data is presented in the form of a bar charts. The worst score is 1 and the
best is 5.

OBSERVATIONS

Mean Green Central Grill
This restaurant is located at 1005 Avenue C, Denton. The staff were friendly and greeted when I
walked in. I was able to put my own spin on my burger by the bread and cheeses to choose from.
Also, they have great wing specials, and the fries are delicious! They have four massive flat
screens tuned in to ESPN. The wings are awesome, but their burger buns are the best. The place
was clean, and the food is reasonably priced, but I was charged 86 cents for a to-go cup for my
drink.

RG Burgers
The overall quality of the burgers was average. The burger itself wasnt terrible, but with
consideration of the other factors in this burger restaurant, I found that it was unsatisfactory at
best. When you first walk in to the restaurant you notice that it is quite clean. This, on the other
hand isnt hard considering they do not seem to be a very busy place. We were told to pick up
2430 Interstate 35E Frontage Rd, Denton, TX 76205 our menus and have a seat. After about 3
minutes someone came by and asked us for our drink choices. After our waitress had taken our
order she became scarce. For the time that we spent there the waitress only checked on us once
and for the rest of the time stayed in the back and talked with her coworkers. The price of the
burgers compared to the quality of the actual burger was not satisfactory. The burgers started at
$7 and the prices climbed with the more toppings put on. One thing that was a positive for this
restaurant is that it did have unlimited fries. As long as you were there you were able to get more
fries. Lastly, the overall taste and experience of this burger place was average. In comparison to
the price, the quality of service, and the quality of the actual burger I would say that this place
does not have anything special.

Time Burger Machine
I went to the Time Burger Machine for lunch last Saturday. The location is 301 W University Dr,
Denton, TX, 76201. That is my first time to try the burger from Time Burger Machine. Usually, I
go to Jack in the Box for the meal. I feel impressive through comparing with Jack in the Box. It
took me 5 to 7 minutes to wait from ordering to getting the meal in hand. Therefore, the speed of
service is pretty fast. The quality of service is also excellent, people who work there are very
nice and patient. They introduced their food to me when they knew that I had never been there
before. The taste is also ok and the fries is very awesome. The price is reasonable and cheap, the
prices of all food are under $10. I observed that people are careful with hygiene, the table is very
clean all the time.

LSA Burger
Located at113 W Hickory St, Denton, TX 76201. LSA is a great place to hang out, listen to
music, and have a great burger. This place must be considered one of the all-time great burger
joints in DFW. I tried the Georgie Boy Burger which had Cheddar/Bacon/House Mayo/LTPO. It
was really great, and so were the fries. The environment of the place was great also, good music,
but the type of music wasnt really the kind of music that I like. Its a great place to hang out and
get a burger with friends

Conclusion:

With all the results taken into consideration the burger place that had the best overall score is
Burger Time Machine. This restaurant had great speed with their service to the guest as well as
quality of the service that they had as a whole restaurant. The price of Burger Time Machine was
well set considering the great quality of taste of the burgers as well as other factors such as size,
quality of beef, and toppings included. Lastly, the restaurant was very clean. The waiters and
busboys kept up with their tables as well as the rest of the restaurant. With all of these factors
taken into consideration, Burger Time Machine is considered the best burger place one could go
to for their money.

Recommendations:

Some recommendations we could make to these other burger places are if you are to place your
business in a college town where the majority of the population is college students, then the
business should try to keep their prices on the low side. This will create a bigger business of the
restaurant because now more people are able to afford to go there. Another recommendation we
could make is the quality and speed of the service one receives at these particular places is
directly correlated to whether the customers they have will return at a later date. This could
simply be avoided be being aware of your staffs attitude during their shifts as well as on their
break. The last recommendation we could make is the cleanliness of the overall restaurant. If the
majority of the tables, chairs, or floor is covered in food crumbs or sauces, then people are going
to turn away before they even sit down. The cleaning, or lack-there-of, of the serving area is
most likely a mirror of how the kitchen looks. These are just a few of the recommendations we
can make to the burger restaurants to ensure the benefits in their business in the long-run.
