do I have that demonstrate my competence for this PL!

knowledge and understanding that children develop new skills at their own rate.

children develop at different levels. .y observing the child- you are able to determine if

III. $pplication: #ow am I going to b%ild on the knowledge and skills
that are demonstrated &In other words, what are yo%r next steps!' and
how will the knowledge, skills, or belief systems be integrated into my
f%t%re teaching practice.
As # begin working in an early head start7 preschool environment- # will be able to use the
knowledge and skills # have learned. # want to first make sure that parents know and
understand how much # sincerely care for their children and to trust that # want what is
best for them. # also want to be able to connect with the parent while touching bases
about their child. # will also let parents know firsthand that # am a mandated report if #
suspect or see any signs of child abuse rather se/ually- physically or emotionally. 8y
goal is to gain the e/perience of communicating with parents. $herefore- # will try to
discover new ways to reach all parenting types.
# now understand how important it is to involve parents to volunteer their time to come in
the classroom. $herefore- # will continue to think of creative ways to involve parents and
families in the classroom because they need to know that they are 'ust as much of a part
of their child4s learning as # am.
9hen it comes to the D!DP- # want to gain e/perience with other types of documentation
besides photos- anecdotal notes- and work samples. .efore # take on a task to difficult- #
will make sure to give myself every opportunity necessary to master the D!DP.

$hroughout my child development classes- # gained knowledge and understanding how
important it is to have a classroom that is set up to show a multicultural environment.
$herefore- # will make sure # use that knowledge so all families will feel welcomed and
honored as they walk in my class.
ince # am persuaded that children learn through play- # will allow children in my class to
have that hands6on e/perience as they play. # will allow time for free play indoors and
outdoors.
# will enhance my learning about $itle %% &ealth and afety regulations. # want to
memori:e and become familiar with all of the articles so when something is out of place #
would be able to quickly fi/ the problem with the solutions giving. #n the mornings
before arrival # will get down to a child si:e and crawl around to make sure they are no
safety ha:ards the children would come across.
# intend to build on my knowledge and skills by attending workshops that cover
classroom related actions to take $hat1ll make sure # am improving and empowering the
