Course
Description:
Students
will
discover
how
technology
influences
their
everyday
lives
and
why
it
is
important
to
understand
the
technological
world.
Students
will
learn
how
to
design/create
projects
that
require
problem
solving
techniques.
They
will
also
use
many
fundamental
technological
principles
(ex:
measuring,
decision
making,
design
process
and
critical
thinking,
etc.)
Students
will
use
new
information
along
with
some
prior
knowledge
to
help
them
complete
their
projects.
Attendance:
Attendance
is
part
of
participation:
if
class
is
missed,
there
will
be
extra
time
to
make
up
class
time.
Students
are
expected
to
arrive
to
class
on
time.
If
a
student
is
to
arrive
late,
he/she
is
expected
to
have
a
late
pass.
When
a
student
is
late
three
times,
disciplinary
action
will
be
taken.
Students
are
expected
to
make
up
all
missed
work.
When
you
are
absent,
please
see
the
teacher
the
following
class
to
see
what
you
missed.
Safety:
All
safety
rules
and
procedures
will
be
instructed
and
explained
by
the
teacher.
A
list
of
general
safety
rules
will
be
given
to
all
students.
It
is
expected
that
all
students
know/follow
these
safety
rules.
Students
are
expected
to
follow
all
safety
rules
and
procedures.
There
will
be
additional
safety
rules/procedures
throughout
the
year.
As
we
learn
about
new
machines/procedures,
it
is
important
that
we
learn
proper
technique/safety
so
that
no
one
gets
hurt.
Students
who
consistently
disobey
or
who
violate
the
classroom
safety
rules
may
lose
some
or
all
privileges
within
the
technology
classroom.
Tools/Classroom:
All
tools
are
to
be
respected
and
used
properly.
All
tools
are
to
be
placed
back
in
their
proper
location.
Students
may
only
use
tools
that
have
been
discussed
and
taught
by
the
teacher.
Vandalism
to
the
classroom
will
be
reported
and
disciplinary
action
will
be
taken
Clean
up
is
very
important
in
the
technology
classroom.
Each
student
will
be
assigned
a
clean
up
job
that
will
be
completed
at
the
end
of
each
class.

Materials
Needed:
Pencil(s)-
please
bring
at
least
one
pencil
to
class
as
they
will
be
used
almost

Folder
with
pockets-
this
will
be
used
to
store
handouts
that
will
be
given
out
by
the
teacher.
Safety
rules
will
also
be
kept
in
this
folder
Various
items
that
may
need
to
be
brought
in
throughout
the
year.
