award winning newspapers, is seeking a full -time newspaper
reporter. This position will collect and analyze information about
newsworthy events and write news stories for the paper.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to,
gathering and verifying factual information regarding stories
through interviews, observations and research, write accurate
stories and deliver them within deadline limits to our editor,
monitor police and fire department radio communications to ob-
tain leads; work with photographers to find appropriate photos
to illustrate stories. Qualifications include:
Bachelors degree from a 4-year college or university, one to
two years related experience or a combination or
education and experience.
Possess clear, concise writing meeting accepted English and
newspaper-trade styles.
Ability to apply basic concepts of basic algebra and geome-
try.
Ability to problem solve.
Must possess a valid California drivers license
and auto insurance.
Ability to relate well with the general public and
business associates.
Must have a professional appearance.
Above-average computer skills.

June 13th. You can find enrollment forms on our website at
www.sierraacademy.net. We will grow to be 240 students in grades 9-
12 by adding a grade each year. Located on the beautiful Bear River
High School Campus, halfway between Auburn and Grass Valley, we
will be a small, community-oriented school with access to full facilities.
As a charter school in Nevada County, we can also accept students
from the neighboring counties of Placer, Sierra, Yuba, and Sutter. With
authorization by the Nevada Joint Union High School District, as a
member of the California Charter Schools Association, and as an
Expeditionary Learning school, Sierra Academy is supported by local,
state, and national educational organizations. Come join us! Be
