NO. 61 OF 1996: REMUNERATION OF TOWN CLERKS ACT, REPEAL ACT,
1996.
It is hereby notified that the President has assented to the following Act which is hereby
published for general information:-
ACT
To repeal the Remuneration of Town Clerks Act, 1984, and to provide for matters
connected therewith.

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-
Repeal of Act 115 of 1984, and amendments thereof
1. The Remuneration of Town Clerks Act, 1984 (Act No. 115 of 1984), the Remuneration
of Town Clerks Amendment Act, 1986 (Act No. 96 of 1986), the Remuneration of Town
Clerks Amendment Act, 1987 (Act No. 106 of 1987), and the Remuneration of Town
Clerks Amendment Act, 1990 (Act No. 26 of 1990), are hereby repealed.
Transitional arrangements
2. The Minister for Provincial Affairs and Constitutional Development may after such
consultation as he or she may deem fit, including consultation with the person who holds
or held the office referred to in section 2(2) of the Remuneration of Town Clerks, 1984
(Act No. 115 of 1984), make such arrangements as he or she may deem necessary for the
finalisation of any matter, including financial matters, connected with the functions of the
Board on the Remuneration and Service Benefits of Town Clerks established by section
2(1) of the said Act.
Short title
3. This Act shall be called the Remuneration of Town Clerks Act, Repeal Act, 1996 .
