Students choose one living thing. They make a digital story. They need to investigate the way it adapts to
the environment.

Describe the features of the chosen organism (habitat, the way they live)

Explain how the adaptations help the organism survive in its environment
IT to present the summative project.

Sharing The Planet
An inquiry into rights and responsibilities in the struggle to share finite resources with
other people and other living things; communities and the relationships within and
between them; access to equal opportunities; peace and conflict resolution.

Dalam unit Sharing the Planet ini, anak anak akan belajar ketrampilan berikut di :

Membaca pidato
Menyimak pidato
Menulis undangan dengan susunan yang tepa
Pada akhir pembelajarannya, siswa diharapkan dapat menyimak dan menjelaskan isi pidato , menyusun
naskah pidato tentang masalah keanekaragaman hayati dan menyusun undangan formal sesuai tujuan. Dan
sebagai tugas akhir mereka di unit ini anak anak akan membacakan naskah pidato mengenai lingkungan
hidup dengan menggunakan media audio

RELIGION
The 5
th
unit in PYP 6 is a review. In this unit, all religion lessons will focus on learning and
practicing simple liturgical activities that each of the religions require. Using theory, the students
will practice using them in daily life to deepen their faith in God.
Practicing how to perform ablutions, pray, read Quran (Moslem)
Make an afterthought (Catholic)
Doing the practice of meditation (Buddhist)

PE
The next unit in PE will focus on Athletics. PYP 6 students will practice all activities with the main focus
on improving athletics skills by understanding technique, practicing and measuring performances.
All students will be expected to know how to participate effectively, fairly, and safely in a sprint
race, hurdles, distance throw, shot put, long jump, Triple Jump, basic scissors and straddle-style
high jump and a relay. At the endthe lesson they will participate and compete in the Athletics Day
event.

INFORMATION LITERACY
In this unit the students will learn about evaluative questions. For the starter they are going to
review their prior knowledge about the other five types of questions that they have learnt from PYP
1 to PYP 5. Then they will enrich their understanding by analysing evaluative questions and
learning how to use this question for their research project.
MANDARIN
GOING TO THE RESTAURANT

Mention some of common Chinese foods with correct pronunciation.
Say simple sentences use the quantifier words, name of foods and drinks.
Present a role play about going to the restaurant with fluently.

Write vocabulary use correct Chinese strokes order.

Rearrange the conversation.
Create a role play script independently.

Reading:
Read the conversation text and act it out.
Outcomes:
Uses correct quantifier words for foods and drinks.
Creates own conversation script about going to a restaurant.
Performs a role play about ordering food until paying the bill.
Writes Chinese characters related with the topic.
Summative Task:
In pairs, student creates a role play about conversation going to the restaurant (welcoming guest, introducing the menu and
order taking, serving meals, and paying bills).

Dear parents,
The focus of the fifth Unit of Inquiry is under the `Sharing the Planet' transdisciplinary
theme.
MATH
Here are the math learning objectives and engagements that will be covered during the Sharing the Planet
unit:
The strategies to find factors and multiples of numbers, factor trees and how they work, and how natural
numbers can be created as the product of prime factors.
Angles are found in the shape between adjoining lines, the corner of a 2D shape and the amount of a turn.
The students will describe lines and angles using geometric vocabulary (adjacent, alternate, corresponding,
revolution, complementary, supplementary, co-interior, angles in a 3-sided polygon, angles in a 4-sided
polygon).

ICT
Students will complete their summative task in the UOI lesson using IT to present their project. ICT lessons this unit
focus on using Live Movie Maker for presentations. This includes arranging timelines for digital stories containing
texts, images, sound clips, and video; upload an image/ video, sound clip; use a sound recorder to record a voice
over or dubbing; use text as title or caption on a movie; give transition effects or other effects to make the movie
more attractive; and save a movie file and share it to an audience.
PERFORMING ARTS
In this unit, PYP 6 students will work individually or in groups to prepare a simple performance in front of
their peers. Students have to choose a music background and create their dance performance. They may
choose based on their interest and abilities. Students independence will be one of the criteria to be assessed
in this unit.
