INFORMATION ON BAT 2014 TEST PAPER

BAT 2014 will be held in 22 cities on 10 May from 3 5 pm.


The entrance test will be of 90 minutes duration and the total marks will be 100.

Part A will be a 60 minute test with multiple choice questions on current affairs, social
awareness and logical and analytical reasoning, carrying 60 marks.

Part B will be a written test with a set of descriptive questions in English. Candidate is expected to
write two short answers in 30 minutes carrying 40 marks.

It is compulsory for candidates to attempt both the parts. Candidates will have to qualify in both the
parts of the test. There are specific rules for this for General students and students from the
reserved categories.


Part A: Computer based test for 60 marks: The question paper for Part A consists of 60 Multiple
Choice Questions and the distribution of the questions under the sections and subsections will be as
follows:
a. English (Total 20 questions)
i. Vocabulary 5 questions
ii. Grammar 1 5 questions
iii. Grammar 2 5 questions
iv. Paragraph structure 5 questions

b. Mathematics (Total 20 questions)
i. Percentage, Ratio and Proportions - 5 questions
ii. Measurement - 5 questions
iii. Algebra - 5 questions
iv. Number series - 5 questions

c. General Awareness and Current affairs (Total 20 questions)
i. History - 5 questions
ii. Sports - 5 questions
iii. Current Affairs - 5 questions
iv. Culture - 5 questions
Part B: 4 short essay questions will be given and candidates are expected to write two essays.
Once you have completed the computer based test, the qualitative questions will appear on the
screen. Please write the answers in the answer sheets provided within a time period of 30 minutes.
You have to write your Admit card number and other details as required on this answer sheet and
return the sheet upon completion to the invigilator.
