Suspension System in Automobiles

What is Suspension System

Suspension is the term given to
the system of Springs, Shock
Absorber and Linkages that
connects the vehicle to its wheels.

Serves dual purpose Handling
and braking.
Different Suspension Systems
1. Conventional Suspension System

2. Independent Suspension System

3. Air Suspension System

4. Hydro elastic Suspension System
Hydrolastic Suspension
A system where the Front and
Rear suspension are connected
in order to give better stability
when vehicle is moving.

Front and Rear suspensions are
equipped with Hydrolastic
Displacers.

These are interconnected with
small bore pipe.

Damping in the system is achieved
by rubber springs.

Rubber spring.
Life of this suspension
system is more than
