What is PWIM Model?
PWIM stands for Picture Word
Inductive Model
It uses a picture word chart as
the main media
It is suitable for teaching
writing (in any classes),
reading and vocabulary (EYL
students)
It is suitable for any genres
that could use pictures as the
media.

How does PWIM help the
teaching learning process?
Emphasizes phonics, grammar, mechanics, and usage of
Standard English.
Provide concrete referents for the learning of new
words, phrases, and sentences.
Help to participate in class activities.
Add the vocabulary insight
Experience the students to participate in the correct
spelling and writing.
Help to learn how to create sentences and paragraphs
related to the subject under study.
