Global Warming affects the natural balance of environment. The world climate is going a
significant change day by day.
There are many causes of Global Warming. The destruction and burning down of tropical forests
, traffic clogging up the city streets , rapid growth of unplanned industries, the use of CFCs in
packaging and manufacturing products, the use of detergents etc. cause Global Warming.
Besides, overpopulation, deforestation are the causative factors of Global Warming. The setting
up of mills and factories in an unplanned way has a great effect on environment. These mills and
factories produce black smoke which gets mixed with air and increases the amount of CO2.
Burning of Gas such as Methane (CH4) and fuel also increase CO2 in the environment. Killing
animals like birds, big cats, lions, tigers is also a alarming cause of Global Warming.
The effects of Global Warming is very dangerous for our existence and survival. The suns
scorching heat comes to earth in a direct way. Therefore, the earths surface becomes seriously
heated. Agriculture, forestry and fishery is seriously be damaged. This can catastrophically
reduce mankinds ability to grow foods, destroy wildlife. Global Warming also cause sea-water to
swell up.
All species are important for maintaining ecological balance. If one is lost, the whole natural
environment changes. To prevent the dangerous effects of Global Warming necessary steps
should immediately be taken.
People should not be allowed to cut off trees which causes deforestation. Rather they should be
advised and suggested to plant more and more trees in accordance with their capability and
convenience. Forests also control the natural balance. People should be made aware of it. Mills,
factories, brick-fields should be set up in a very good planned way. There should be well drainage
system to pass away waste materials, wastages and poisonous chemicals.
The alarming worlds climate is very dangerous for mankind and ecological balance. Unless
Global Warming is not controlled, no men, animals will be able to live, grow and thrive. So, we
should try maintain the ecological balance to decrease the effects of Global Warming
Global warming is the warming near the earth's surface that results when the earth's atmosphere
traps the sun's heat. The earth is getting warmer. The changes are small, so far, but they are
expected to grow and speed up. Within the next fifty to one hundred years, the earth may be
hotter than it has been in the past million years. As oceans warm and glaciers melt, land and
cities along coasts may be flooded. Heat and drought may cause forests to die and food crops to
fail. Global warming will affect weather everywhere, plants and animals everywhere, people
everywhere; humans are warming the earth's atmosphere by burning fuels, cutting down forest,
and by taking part in other activities that release certain heat trapping gases into the air.
One major cause of global warming is the use of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural
gas that were formed from the remains of plant material deposited during the earth's
carboniferous period. We have known for only a few thousand years that coal, oil, and natural
gas can be burned to provide energy. It was not until the mid-1800s, however, that we began to
burn very large quantities of these fossil fuels. The worldwide consumption of fossil fuel has
increased dramatically. The world now burns at least five billion tons of fossil fuel each year. As
this carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels enters the atmosphere, some of it is taken up by
photosynthesizing plants, and the oceans absorb some. But because we are burning so much
fossil fuel at such a rapid rate, we are putting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere much faster
than these natural processes are taking it out. There is no longer a balance between the amount
of carbon dioxide being added to the air and the amount of carbon dioxide being removed. As a
result, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the air is steadily increasing.
Global warming is an increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industry, and agricultural
processes caused by human, natural, and other gas emissions. This results in an increased emission of
greenhouse gases. Short-wave solar radiation sinks into the Earth's atmosphere and warms its surface;
while long wave infrared radiation emitted by earth's surface is absorbed, and then re-emitted by trace
gases.
Climate changes occur in our earth's atmosphere due to a buildup of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse
gases can occur naturally as well as a result of human activities. Problems can occur when higher
concentrations of greenhouse gases are present in our atmosphere because they have enhanced our
earth's heat trapping capability.
There are many misconceptions about global warming. Some believe that pollution causes global
warming, but the fact is global warming is the result of burning fossil fuels, coal, and oil that release
carbon dioxide. Another misconception is nuclear power causes climate change. Nuclear power
actually reduces emissions of carbon dioxide when used in place of coal. Some believe that global
warming means that it will become warmer all over. The name is misleading because in some places, it
will actually become colder. The majority of scientists believe global warming is a process underway
and that it is human-induced.
The greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. These gases occur naturally.
The Earth uses those gases to warm its surface. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere when
solid waste, fossil fuels, wood, and wood products are burned. Each greenhouse gas absorbs heat
differently. If natural gases did not occur, the temperatures would be 91.4 degrees cooler than the
current temperatures. These gases trap heat and cause the greenhouse effect, rising global
temperatures. Human activities add to the levels of these gasses, causing more problems. The burning
of solid waste, fossil fuels, and wood products are major causes. Automobiles, heat from homes and
businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today's carbon dioxide emissions, 25% of
methane, and 20% of the nitrous oxide emissions. The increase in agriculture, deforestation, landfills,
industrial production, and mining contribute a significant share of emissions too. The gases released
into the atmosphere are tracked by emission inventories. An emission inventory counts the amount of
