repair bad sectors

MHDD listed all the commands, we mainly explain the MHDD several commonly used
commands: PORT, ID, SCAN, HPA, SHPA, NHPA, PWD, UNLOCK, DISPWD, ERASE,
STOP.

We enter the PORT, Enter. This command lists the machines IDE, SATA and SCSI hard drives,
mhdd masked the detection of SLAVE, so an IDE disk which need to detect can only be set to
master or cable select and connect to a master on the IDE cable, in order to prevent users error,
compressed version canceled the primary detection, Enter according to the port number of hard
drive and choose the hard drive which need to detect, the display interface as below.

Here we can see two hard drives, a main disk WD40G, a Maxtor disk 2G, we chose 3 test
Maxtor hard drive. Of course, we can also choose WD drives. Enter.Enter the ID, we can see the
hard disk information:

Enter the scan start detecting the hard disk.

Here:
Start LBA is to detect the start sector (default 0)
End LBA for the detection of the end of sector (the largest values of sector of the hard drive by
default)
Time out for the detection timeout.
Spindown ofter scan is to stop the disc drive motor when tests are complete.
Loop test / repaire cycle detection and repair bad sectors
Erase Delays repair bad sectors

We mainly use the detection of its ability, after press F4 to enter the testing interface.

In the test interface, the top line on the left indicate the testing state, the right indicate the error
message of hard drive, in which:
AMNF address mark error
T0NF 0 tracks not found
ABRT command aborted
IDNF sector error flag
UNC parity error, also known as ECC error
BBK marking of bad blocks error

Bad sectors show similar With HDDSCAN, bad sectors or the LBA value of unstable tracks will
display in lower right corner of the interface; in the scanning process can use up and down
buttons to scan or skip.
