of the landing gear extension & retraction system.

(*) Different ECAM warnings may be triggered. It will depend on the aircraft condition at the time of the fault. Under no circumstances this table should be used as a reference.

Last Leg Report shows faults recorded during the last flight.
On the MCDU, each page of the display shows a max of 2 faults.
To see subsequent faults messages, press NEXT page key.
Previous Leg Reports show faults recorded up to 63 previous flights
and store a max of 30 faults (including current flight faults). If a new
fault occurs as the report is full, the oldest fault is overwritten.
On the MCDU, each page of the display shows a maximum of 3 faults
for ULTRA LGCIU, 2 faults for CRANE LGCIU.

BITE Test detects LGCIU internal faults and some LGCIU external faults
(as open/short circuits). LGCIU BITE test does not identify proximity
sensors disagreement faults (TGT POS faults).
To confirm proximity sensor disagreement faults on ground, refer to the
Ground Scanning results.

Troubleshooting Data (TSD) are of two types:
1/ Ground TSD - Record of failures detected during ground phases
On ULTRA LGCIU: Select TROUBLESHOOTING DATA. Ground TSD
displayed on the 1st page.
On CRANE LGCIU: Select GROUND REPORT.
2/ Flight TSD - Record of failures detected during flight phases
On ULTRA LGCIU: Select TROUBLESHOOTING DATA. Flight TSD
displayed from the 2nd page.
On CRANE LGCIU: Select TROUBLESHOOTING DATA.

Ground Scanning stores a maximum of 3 faults and is cleared at each
engine start. If a new fault occurs after the report is full, the oldest fault
is overwritten.
On ULTRA LGCIU: not a real time monitoring and not updated while
the LGCIU is in interactive mode. Shows faults previously recorded
on ground (i.e ground report).
On CRANE LGCIU: shows real time results of continuous monitoring.
Landing Gear Simulation Mode
Allows simulation of the LG position (uplocked/downlocked, extended/
compressed) during maintenance or troubleshooting tasks.
In simulation mode the LGCIU supplies outputs in accordance with the
simulated configuration both on ARINC 429 and on discrete signals.

at the time of the fault (side in control, LG lever position, proximity sensor
settings, solenoid states, temperature)

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
ECAM Warning LGCIU X FAULT does not imply replace the LGCIU
Follow applicable TSM task to identify root cause of the fault.
Use AirN@v interactive troubleshooting tool which correlates ECAM
warning(s) and CFDS fault message(s) to identify the applicable TSM task(s).
Two types of proximity sensors fault can be detected
Electrical fault (detected by the BITE test)
- e.g N L/G EXT PROX SNSR 24GA
Likely to be due to an open / short circuit detected by the LGCIU (wiring
issue, defective sensor, etc).
Prox sensor disagreement fault (not detected by the BITE test)
- e.g N L/G EXT PROX SNSR 24GA TGT POS
Likely to be due to an incorrect rigging between the proximity sensor
and its target
LABELS CALL-UP parameters
Permits to monitor information provided by LGCIUs on ARINC 429 Labels 020,
021, 022 and 023.
In the MCDU, access MCDU MENU AIDS CALL-UP PARAM LAB.
To access Label 20 of LGCIU1: Type 6D/1/020/01
To access Label 21 of LGCIU2: Type 6D/2/021/10

Proximity sensors troubleshooting
Inductance / resistance values can be measured to confirm the proximity
sensor condition and avoid unwarranted removal.
