First day:

Firstly I will write about the first day in my work experience, in the first week
was hard to understand the nature of work. First day in my work experience we
was went to the main branch because we have meeting with one of the police
employee who was a women, she was told me and the other students who will
work in the all branch of police station in Ras Al Khimah the roles of working in
police station, she said that we should wear black Abaya without design, not
allowed to put makeup, not allowed to playing in the phone, also we can not do
our college work in the station, because the police station is a professional
station and it is reflect our personality. After the meeting each students went to
the branch that will work in, when I arrived to the police station I was afraid to
enter, and I was not know where I should go and for who. I enter the police
station I went to the reception and I said to them that I am student from the
college and I will train here, they guide me to go to the second floor and go to the
secretary Kholud Al Mansori, she welcomed me and told me the summary of the
nature of the work in police station and there some department need a brave
person to work in it, then she take me and the other two students in the station
to see the place and the all departments, then she toke us to the first department
that we work in which was Services and support department, we meet Ms.
Fatima Hamdan who is teach us the work from first day, but was not a lot of
work in the first day.

Relation to Work Plan

1.1
My work plan was, each week I should to work in different department, I was
worked in 5 departments, so some departments I worked in two weeks. I
attached with the appendices.


1.2
Services and support department is place for provide the notification problem to
the court, they call who have problem to come to the police station, include the
escorts, also they count who went to the courses each week.

Traffic department, is about renewal the drive license, follow up the accidents,
also going in awareness campaigns to the schools.

Criminal and investigation department, when the problem or an case need
investigation the send it to this department to complete and looking more in the
problem to achieve the truth and the emotions is not allowed.

Community policing, is to solve the family, marital, and other problems in quiet
and friendly way.

Security information department, is about make statistical about the branch of
police station every week, also they have and save all the security information.


1.3

There are not a big different between my experience and the work plane,
because some of the work come without plan, so we work it like the documents,
PowerPoints, and other work.



Employer Information:

Al Maamorah Police Station, in Ras Al Khimah, Al Maamorah near RAK Expo,
and about the number of the emplyees they did not give us in information
because that security information and not allowed to see this information.

I worked at the branch of police station, which is head office of police station is in
Al Thait. (RAK Police General Headquarters)

RAK Police General Headquarters, then came the branches of police station, one
of them Al Maamorah Police station which my work experience was in it. From
this came the departments such as the traffic, services and support, criminal and
investigation, community policing, and security information departments. I
attached the organization structure with the appendix.


2.4
There are a lot of services that the company provide, police station the first place
the people think about when they have a problem, police help all people who
need a help about every thing, family, traffic, criminal, and all problems.

Work details:

3.2
Services and support department, I was worked in this department in the first
and last week, Each officer should join a course which related to the job, my
work was about provide and see who went to course in the last months, and I use
my skill in using and search in the computer and the internet, because there is a
big and long schedule which is require focus, I found the names easily also I told
my supervisor in this department who is Fatema Hamdan how to find the names
easily which we looking for. I helped the other employee in this section in
writing in word document, they have not too much skill in the word or in the
computer, my skills help them to writ every thing easily and quickly that make
them feeling good about me. Also I send the problems to the court and save the
paper that need to put it in the files. In addition I make some calls to two person
who have problem and I asked them to come to the police station to complete the
procedures.

Traffic department, in the second and the sixth week I was worked in this section
with Saeeda Ali, I was interest in this place which my job was to renewal the
drive licenses, and save the information that we change the license, about the
accidents we receive a lot of accidents and we should save that in the files and
enter it in the computer, also we going in awareness campaigns to the some
schools and give them some brochures about the traffic and I participated with
the traffic section in a competition in the schools between the classes, and I have
a certificate of appreciation, also they put my picture in the internet and in the Al
Etihad newspaper. Also I make some PowerPoints about the traffic and reduce
the accidents, they can use it in schools.


In week 3 the Criminal and investigation department, the hardest section to
work in, because the emotions are not allowed in the investigation, for example,
we will see a lot of cases, and we dont know which is from the parties who said
the truth, that require a lot of patience, also I learn how to enter that in the
system, I worked with Shahrban Alshehhi.

Community policing department in week 4 with Bshayer Saleh, the nature of the
work in this section is to solve the family, marital, and other problems in quiet
and friendly way. I was helped them in solving some problems which some of
them is easily to talk with them and the other is difficult to contact and deal with
them, I use my friendly way and I think that is the best way to solve the
problems. In addition there were not a lot of work in this section, this means that
I helped the other sections like making the statistical the branch of police station.


Security information department, in this section I worked with Waleed Alnaqbi
in week 5 and week 7, this department I was worked in statistical about the
branch of police station, because they need to save every thing each week. Also I
save some documents in the files and in the computer.


3.3
In each department I have supervisor teach me the work and what I should do. In
services and support department the Corporal Fatema Hamdan, in traffic
department the Sergeant Saeeda Ali, in the department of criminal and
investigation my supervisor was Shahrban Alshehhi, in community policing my
supervisor was Bshayer Saleh, and in security information was Waleed Alnaqbi.
Thats mean that also all the police men in these department help me to improve
my work and do a perfect job. But the supervisor who was responsible about me
was the Sergeant Ayman Alsromi, he was see my presence and my leave, and
responsible about everything about me.


3.4
I learn from the job training the dealing with different people, because when I
was in the job training I was communicated with gentle people, hard people, and
other different people and different recipes, I learn a lot of thing which is will
help me a lot if I want to work in the police station in future, like how I use the
program, how I make statistic about the police station, and how I can solve a lot
of problem in my nice way and skills.

3.5
The most language that I used in the police station is Arabic, in communication
with people, in computers, and in writing documents and every thing. But there
is a small percentage in talking English, I used my English when they wont from
me translate the problem to foreign person, thats mean they use English but not
too much.

3.6
The computer programs that I used were, the portal of the police station, the
investigation program, and I used the Microsoft office and I use my skills in this.
But we cannot use the Internet in the police station because is not allowed to use
it. The equipment that I used was, fax, printer, scanner, and the damage device
that is for damage the paper that we will not use it.


Interpersonal/ Communication skills:

4.1
There is not a lot of problems, it is one problem which was in the first weeks,
when I should to do the work quickly in the computer because they need it, I
make a mistake and I didnt know how to solve this by myself.

4.2
When I want to solve this problem, I was afraid a little bit because it was the first
time, I told the supervisor Fatima to help me, and she came and solve this
mistake kindly.

4.3
In my work there are a lot of things that I like it like, the easily communication
between the employee, the deal with them, it was clearly seen that all of the
employee in one hand, also the work is became more easy with the new
technologies, in addition they share with us all the work, and I like that we went
to the schools in awareness campaigns. I dislike that some departments which I
didnt work in, because not allowed for the student to work in or any other
people, they have a secret information that only allowed for the employee, I
disliked because I want to take more experience and because some departments
I work in it twice.

Conclusion and recommendations:

5.1
The company respect my work experience by share me all the work and teach
me the way of the work and how I can make my work in perfect way. Also all of
the employee deal with me in best way. In addition they respect my work when I
did a PowerPoints about the traffic, they feel happy about it and I feel happy
about their reaction. There is one thing if the company done will be better and I
think will respect my work experience too. I think they should give us a
certificate of appreciation of our work in the police station for almost two
months, but maybe they will send it to us latter.

5.2
The things that I did will in the job training are all the work that the employee
gave it to me and teach me how to do this work with there help to finish the job,
but the work which was I think challenging was the PowerPoints because they
only told us to make a presentation about a subject without examples, that was
very hard because I afraid that I cant make it like they want, but when I finish it
and show them I felt very happy about there reaction.

5.3
My experience as a media student in studying about the design, and
communication skills help me in design the professional PowerPoints, and help
my in communicate and deal with the employee and the other people. I think
now the College Programs cover every thing, because our college day to day
improves and open new programs that help the student have an amazing future.


5.4
The main thing that I learnt from the job training, that I will meet different
people, some of them easy to deal with, and the other it is hard to deal with them,
I learn from the work and from my study that I should to be patient person to
finish my work with people.

5.5
I can improve myself as an employee by doing all the work that I should to do in
completely way, and I came and leave in the time, also dont take a lot of
holidays, so in this way I think that the manager will feel happy about my work
and about my responsibility about everything in the work and myself.

5.6
I think the most important skill that the all program should taught at the college
is Communication skills because it is only in the media, this skill help the student
to contact and deal with people in perfect way, and that is what help me in my
work experience and I am very happy that I study this subject because it is help
me a lot in my job training.

5.7
I want to recommend my work experience company for the students in future,
because the employees in the police station respect our work and job training
with their way and the deal with us. Also they help us to complete the work, and
they teach us the right when someone makes a mistake.

5.8
When I will graduate I would to work in this organization or a similar
organization, because I like and interest in the way of work in the police station,
and I think that I will help a lot of people in the country and solve there problem,
thats make me feel happy about myself.

5.9
My future career goals are affected by my work experience a lot. Before the job
training my future career was I want to work in the police station without any
reason, I am still want to work in police station but now I have goals, that I will
help the people in my country, I will solve there problem and make them happy,
and I want to work for my country which is give me all what I want.
