So what? What is important
to understand about this?

It is important for students
to understand the social and
economic factors that
caused such a horrific event.
As students are obtaining
evidence about the
Holocaust they will see
sources that identify social
and economic factors, such
as the destroyed economic
state of Germany allowed for
Hitler to rise to power and
the issue of hatred for Jews
throughout history as a
social factor. Students must
be able to gather evidence
and view multiple sources in
order to understand what
happened. Students also
have the opportunity to
complete research and see
evidence from different
perspectives. Students are
building their critical thinking
skills as they obtain evidence
and discuss the Holocaust.
