Mr. Senard,

We are High School students at Ventura High School in California. We are juniors and
this year we took AP Environmental Science. For our final project, we decided to address the
issue of under inflated tires and other small things that decrease fuel economy and increase fuel
consumption. In our research, we came across your environmentally friendly tires, the Energy
Saver A/S to be specific. We focused on tire pressure, not tire design, for our preoject, but none
the less we would like to send you our support of these tires and encourage you to continue to
manufacture and improve their design as a great economic niche that your company can fill.

My group looked into the issue of under inflated tires on our campus and held an event in
which we offered free tire inflation to students in order to improve their fuel efficiency and
decrease CO2 emissions. When brainstorming in the beginning of or project, your companys
commercials for eco friendly tires were one of the main things that drove us to working with
transportation issues and specifically tires. In all, we were able to reduce the emissions of cars in
our parking lot by 8000 pounds of CO2, which I believe is about the equivalent of installing four
sets of your tires. We attribute some of this reduction in emissions to Michelin for providing us
with the idea we needed to get going on our project.

We feel that tires marketed as more eco friendly than standard tires create a new niche in
the market and we would like to encourage Michelin to expand its production and fill that niche.
Eco friendly tires were not always a marketable thing, but now we feel that the market for them
will only be growing. If Michelin was to continue to explore this market, it would be a great
economic benefit for them and a great environmental advancement for the average individual.

It was great to be able to do our part and decrease our schools CO2 emissions, and we are
very thankful for the work Michelin has done with eco friendly tires on a much bigger scale than
our three person group will ever be able to accomplish. Thank you again and we encourage
Michelin to avidly pursue new developments in eco friendly tires. We have gathered the
signatures of our fellow classmates to show that these views are shared by more than just us
three in Environmental Science.
Sincerely,

The Pressure Checkers
