Capstone Project: Bariatric Surgery & the Journey Towards Transplantation: A Mixed Methods Case Series. There is limited literature available on the topic of dialysis after bariatric surgery. To address this issue, I wrote a case series featuring two participants who had previously had bariatric surgery and were now currently on dialysis. The goal was to learn what struggles they faced and what patient education would be most helpful for this population. Both patients had difficulty with adequate protein intake while on their calorically restrictive diet. With this information I created a patient education piece that was submitted to the Journal of Renal Nutrition. I am currently waiting to hear about its acceptance.
