LANGUAGE ARTS

Reading: Your child can read RAZ
KIDS all summer long!! All of us Grade
1 teachers will be opening up more
levelled books for them to read. Make
sure your child is reading a book at
least 2 times a week all summer long
so they do not regress in their learning!

Spelling: Over the summer, have your
child practice spelling high frequency
words from Grade 1 and Grade 2 using
these websites:

- Grade K-5 high frequency
words for spelling and reading.

Writing and Grammar: This week we
will be writing to next years teacher.
Students will be informing the next
teacher, who they are and information
about themselves. We will also be
writing about our plans for the summer
on Monday.




MATH
This summer make sure your child is review
Grade 1 math concepts and skills at least
three times a week!

Review at home using
www.everydaymathonline.com is a great
resource of games and support to enhance
your childs math skills.

www.ixl.com/math/grade-1 is a great
website to see what skills your child needs to
practice for grade 1 and 2.

www.multiplication.com is a great website to
get your child ahead and practice an
important math skill for Grade 2.

Reminders:
- Remember that on Wednesday and
Thursday, there is no school. Make
sure to sign up for your Parent/
Teacher Conference time.

- Tuesday school finishes at 12:00.
This is the last day for students.
Our class party will be from 10:00-
12:00 on Tuesday with many fun
activities.

- Report cards are emailed out on
Monday, June 16
th
after 3:30pm.
Please check your email! No report
cards can be issued before that.
