To be able to view what medications were administered in other departments, the Last given is displayed in
the MAR. The dose displayed above Last given in the MAR refers to the current medication order not neces-
sarily the last dose administered.

Scenario: Hydromorphone 8mg Gtube, via GTUBE given in Emergency Dept. at 10:43.
The Admission order for Hydromorphone is 16 mg, G tube, tab, q 4h prn, Pain Scale 8-10.

When viewing in the MAR, Hydromorphone displays Last given at 10:43. Note the dosage states 16 mg, but
8mg was administered. Also displayed is the 8 mg dose at 10:43.

This does not mean the last dose given was 16 mg (this is the dose on the current order). The Last given is
based on the name of the medication.

The best place to view what drug, dose and time the med was actually given is on the MAR Summary, this
clearly displays the medication order details and when the last dose was given.
