To whom it may concern:

I have had the pleasure to know and work with Ms. Corine Matarasso over the last ten years and have
been impressed with Corines organization and leadership skills in a variety of settings and functions. We
served together on the Parent Leadership Training Institutes (PLTI) Design Team Board where she
represented the alumni organization of more than 200. PLTI is under the CT. Commission on Children
and trains parents in building civic skills for advocating on behalf of children, families and education. In
her role as alumni president, Corine has led initiatives to educate parents about resources in the
community and most recently was the point person and leader at KT Murphy for a district-wide pilot on
School Climate under the PLTI Community Conversation a seven year initiative funded by the William
Caspar Graustein Foundation. Corine led the team of school administrators, teachers, parents and
community representatives to a most successful outcome with more than 250 in attendance and with real
projects which benefited the school into the next year. In fact, Corine has presented her excellent report
to the William Caspar Graustein Foundation as a best practice and has been asked to serve as a
consultant to another school in the district interested in improving their school climate.

Personally, it has been a pleasure to work with Corine on bringing programs to KT Murphy as Corine is a
dedicated and excellent teacher and mentor. In addition to pursuing her education and additional
training, she serves as a mentor in the Starfish program. Corine is a truly caring person and uses her
time and talents to empower individuals and the community. She does this without seeking the limelight,
but works to higher standards and a personal sense of accomplish in helping others to succeed.

In my role as Executive Director of the East Side Partnership, we have worked with KT Murphy and
Corine in a number of projects which have benefited the East Side community where KT Murphy is
located. Just last week Corine worked with us, the Walkability Partners Group to survey parents about
the condition of the streets in their neighborhood. The outcome was completed surveys and books
distributed to participating families for summer reading. With her many skills, I know Corine will be
successful in any role she undertakes in the district.

Best,
