We do not agree that the incident occurred during inclement weather as it was only raining at

that instant. Instead of stopping work the contractor still proceed to do their brickworks in the
rain.
We do not accept your assessments of the damaged area because this assessment is only
superficial in nature. Structural integrity of the roof may have been affected. Roof trusses and
rafters may have been weakened or permanently damaged by the collapsed. This may have
affected the integrity of the whole roof structure. Since this is Structural, an independent
Structural Engineer has to be employed to assess the structural integrity of the roof, ceiling as
well as the walls. Drawings have to be prepared by the engineer to clearly indicate each and
every detail of the repair or replacement required to make good the damaged area in particular
and structural integrity in general. These drawings must also show the method of repairs and
replacements required and to ensure the design requirements are met.
To enable us to better assess whether the contractor is qualified to repair please confirm the
following
1. A method Statement to show how these repairs are to be carried out.
2. A logistic plan to show how the works are to be carried out.
3. A safety plan on how the works to be carried out safely
4. The names of CIDB registered worker for the works.
5. A schedule of works to completion. Only Saturday and Sundays are available.
6. A valid CIDB registration of the contractor.
7. All materials have to be Sirim approved Timber and material use.
8. A list of works to be carried out.
9. Name of the Architect to submit the works to the relevant authorities.
10. Name of the Engineer who prepares the drwaings and undertake the works.
We do not agree that the repairs of the roof and ceiling do not require specialist expertise. Roof
and ceiling form an integral and important part of the house and contractor must be qualified
and registered with CIDB in these specialist trade.
