Schools Out AUGUST 2014 Holiday Workshops!
The Serendipity Trust (Guarantee) Limited is a not-for-profit organisation. We
coordinate events and projects that increase participation opportunities and develop
new interests for children & young people. Our Schools Out Program is a series of fun
and creative workshops held each school holidays.
This August, workshops will be held on topics such as Sensory Paint and play, Origami,
Cookery, Story Writing, paper crafts, sand art, Glass Painting and Pottery Painting!
Kids can even learn how to make their own jewelry, Play Dough or an original pair of
flip flops!
By purchasing a ticket for 300/- you are helping us to cover some our expenses such
as art materials. We cover the remaining expenses thanks to donations made to the
Serendipity Trust. These donations also enable us to offer a minimum of 5 children per
workshop who come from low-income families the chance to attend free of charge.
Huge thanks to everyone who supports our work in Sri Lanka.
Only 15 spots are available in each session so make sure you purchase your tickets
today to avoid missing out. Workshops are on offer for children aged between 2 and
15 years so there is something for everyone.

The workshop has two components; storytelling and drawing! Stories about
creatures and animals will be shared with the children before they use their wild
imaginations to create illustrations under the guidance of the workshop
facilitators.

Make Your Own Flip Flops
Piyawathi
Participants will cut and create their own pair of pretty slippers in this fun and
creative workshop! Please note this workshop is 500 LKR per child due to the
additional material requirements for slippers, flowers, ribbons etc.

Tickets cost 300/ per child per workshop. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Please note this is a not-for-profit program - a minimum of 5 tickets per workshop will be donated to children from low socio-economic backgrounds
Please handover your child to the workshop facilitators on time and pick up on time.
Please send a small snack & drink for the snack break.
Please send your child dressed in clothes that can get dirty/paint on them during activities or send an apron.
Please ensure you provide 2 x emergency contact numbers when registering your child.
For children under 3.5 years we ask that parents/guardians stay on site throughout the session for support. You are welcome to join in the fun if you wish

Ready! Steady! Cook! Participants will rise to the challenge of creating their own
piece of tasty food art using a selection of ingredients and their individual
creativity.

Highland Dancing

Come and have a go at learning the basics of Highland Dancing to the tune of
Scottish Bagpipes! This is a special style of solo dancing developed in the Scottish
Highlands in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries for competitions at events
such as the Highland Games.

Nazoor! Each participant will create their own necklace, pendant or pair of
