Reflection
To create this curriculum chart, I used Marylands Common Core Standards as well as Marylands State Curriculum. Several teachers in my school have class websites, which proved to be very useful to me. I also went straight to the source and talked to many of my colleagues to make sure I was on the right track with my chart. The hardest part of creating this chart was examining the Common Core State Standards. This curriculum was just implemented in my school this year, so I am not yet fluent. It was vitally important that I spoke with the teachers at my school to make sure my chart reflected what they are actually teaching in their classrooms. I think this chart will be very valuable to my colleagues, including my media specialist. Mapping out all the curricula in the building can help fill in gaps and support cross-curricular planning. Our media specialist is currently going through some serious health problems and is absent frequently. This chart may make things a little bit easier for her because she can see what everyone is teaching at a glance.
