When maintaining a school, we pay not only for bell and fire alarm, but also

students and staffs well being. Effective school maintenance projects capital

investment, ensures the health and safety of the students, and supports educational

performance. My principal and I took a walk-through in the beginning of second

semester and made plans to do few improvements around the school campus. He

was excited that I was part of the walk-through because it provided new perspective

and fresh ideas to the planning process. He also told me that students are more

likely to prosper when their environment is conductive to learning. Well-designed

facilities send a powerful message to students about the importance a community

places on education.
