-The teacher was the main one conducting the experiment for safety reasons.
-Materials used: water, bowl, strip of cloth, soapy bubble mixture, dry ice

2. Describe the instructional strategy or strategies (e. g., cooperative learning, peer
tutoring, think alouds) that were utilized in the teaching of those concepts.
Think alouds were conducted to see how big students thought the bubble would grow
throughout the experiment.

3. Please describe if and how the teacher utilized the following during the lesson: models,
the arts, and technology.
The teacher modeled the experiment, once again for safety reasons.

4. Describe the assessment strategies that the teacher used to assess the content
knowledge of the student. These assessments might be formative or summative.
After the think alouds, the teacher also asked students to write what they thought would
happen to the bubble and the ice on a piece of paper. She then chose a few to read to open
students minds to other possibilities they might not have thought about.

Take notes on student engagement. Pick several students to look at over the course of the
lesson.

Lexi (Grade 5) Highly engaged, asking questions, shared thoughts multiple times
Jacob (K) Disengaged, wanted to play with toys, had to be redirected multiple times
Brooklyn (Grade 3) Engaged throughout, asked one question, mostly just observed the
lesson
