QuickSurf for AutoCAD 2007

Installing the Program Files

The first step for installing QuickSurf for AutoCAD 2007 is to run the .exe that was included in
the zip file and allow the program to install to the default location. This is a different location
from previous versions. If you wish to change this location you may, but you must remember this
change, the program will assume by default the following
C:\Program Files\QuickSurf 2007
Open the .zip file and run the .exe included.
Pick the installation location, C:\Program Files\QuickSurf 2007 is the default.
Once the program has installed, you may proceed.
Installing Support Path
This step is identical to previous versions

Start AutoCAD
Select Tools then Options...
Select the Files tab
Select Support File Search Path
Press the Add.. button
Enter the full path to the QuickSurf directory in the open cursor...
Such as C:\Program Files\QuickSurf 2007
Press the Apply button
Press OK to exit the dialog
You may ignore any warning to restart AutoCAD if it pops up, this is more common in older
versions.
Loading Menu files
This step introduces the changes made by Autodesk for 2007
Type cuiload in the AutoCAD prompt.

Press enter and this will open the Load/Unload Customization options

Click Browse
Locate the QS52.cui file located in the main program folder (by default C:\Program
Files\QuickSurf 2007)

Once the menu files QS52.cui had been selected, press Load
By selecting Load the name QUICKSURF will appear in the list of Loaded Customization
Groups.
Once this loaded, select Close

You should see the QuickSurf menu loaded up top, on the far right of the loaded menus.
At any time if AutoCAD gives any warning about replacing menu files, you can IGNORE this
warning. QuickSurf is NOT changing the menu files in any significant manner.
Advanced Menu Loading
The introduction of the .cui menu file makes installing the menus easier. There is a way to
customize and manually load the QuickSurf menu. Please do not attempt this unless you are
familiar with AutoCAD menus.
By default the .cui menu loading will add the needed QuickSurf menu file (up top, pull down)
and the floating toolbar. If you wish to edit this information, you may edit the menu settings.
Tools > Customize > Interface
This will load the menu options interface in AutoCAD
Here you can make changes to the AutoCAD menu file Main CUI File (acad.cui)
AutoCAD help can explain how to edit these files.
If you click on the Transfer Tab you can look at the options between 2 different .cui files.
In the first window open Main CUI File (acad.cui)
In the 2nd window open qs52.cui
Once these 2 files are loaded you can see how the menu files were transferred and installed.
Once again AutoCAD help can assist in learning how to manipulate these options. To install
QuickSurf, you do not need to understand these advanced settings.
