Cardiology, GI, Nutrition support, Oncology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics,
Pulmonary and Reanl.
o Completed comprehensive worksheets and attended classes taught by specialty RDs to
expand knowledge of disease states
o Worked closely with two RDs as well as other hospital staff including RNs and Doctors to
enhance communication skills.
o Developed proper techniques to thoroughly assess patients and determine appropriate risk
level
o Gained experience in providing comprehensive diet education for multiple disease states
to patients and family members

o Functioned in many aspects of the food service production areas including hot/cold
production, dish room, and operating production equipment
o Developed a safety in-service for employees
o Partnered with a chef to organize a cooking demonstration for the students and staff
o Planned and executed a cultural themed meal. Tasks for this event involved determining
budget, production needs, marketing styles, and purchasing needs.




COMMUNITY ROTATIONS- 200 HOURS
o Throughout the internship I was able to expand my verbal communication and
presentation skills as well as broaden my experiences by participating in numerous
community activities and events. Examples include:
o Heart healthy holiday presentation given to a senior center (November 2013)
o Education on vegetables given to Head Start students (January 2014)
o Healthapalooza at the Pennington School (March 2014)
o Created educational games and activities for Camp Red Jacket for children with
type 1 diabetes (June 2014)
