Abstract: In Old Testament history, among the Chosen people,
prophets played a significant role. They were God-inspired and
enlightened people who, as the chosen people of God, were different from the rest of the population. Their service was not a priestly
one, but as the chosen people, they were obligated to carry out His
will and warn the people. The prophets were endowed with the gift
of oratory, as well as performing miraculous acts in order to have a
greater impact on the people of Israel.
