VPK Teacher: Develop and instruct age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage physical, emotional, social,
spiritual and academic growth. Lesson plans incorporate VPK readiness standards across the domains to ensure
favorable child outcomes. Maintain individual student portfolios including skills checklists, labeled work samples
and assessment reports of individual growth. Develop and incorporate hands-on activities, engaging manipulatives
to accommodate kinesthetic and tactile learning experiences. Responsible for developing timely educational
themes and creating and maintaining a classroom environment that support an environment of acquiring

Develop and plan cooking classes appropriate for pre-school through 3

grade students. Students learn the basics
of preparing dishes and baking, enhancing their math and reading skills as they read recipes and measure
ingredients. Each child has hands-on cooking experience in class and is provided the recipe and dish to take home.
Stay at Home Mom 6/2000-8/2005
Temporarily stepped away from the classroom to be the fulltime mother of two small children. This leave of
absence enabled me to use my teaching and child development skills to prepare my own children for strong and
successful academic careers.
