Pre-Requisites
Art 1
General
Course
Description:
The Art 2 student will expand knowledge in the broad subject of art. He or she will
build on his or hers base knowledge of art history, creative skills, and composition
design. Through semi-advance projects, he or she will enhance individual artistic
abilities and prepare students for more intense coursework.

Course
Requirements:

Pencils, one inch 3 ring binder, sketchbook (can be found at Wal-Mart in the craft
section), and $15 art course fee.

Teacher
Expectations:
The student will be expected to put forth 100% effort, follow project
outlines/rubrics, and have a positive attitude. The student will strive to build on
current knowledge of how to create, critique, and discuss art.
Classroom Rules
Be on time to class and in your seat.
Be an active participant.
Listen! Follow all directions.
All art materials are to be used only for the purpose for which they are
intended.
Clean up after yourself!
Treat others the way you wish to be treated.
Follow all NHS handbook policies.
Disciplinary Plan
The following procedure will be used for minor offenses. A copy can be found on
the class website for future reference.
Verbal Warning
Conference will be held with the student (Lunch Detention may be assigned).
and Parent Contact will be made.
Office Referral
*Teacher reserves the right to skip steps as necessary according to severity and
policies.*

Assessment
/ Evaluation:

Projects will be assigned that will focus on a particular medium of art with specific
elements of art and principles of design required for each project.

Skill/Craftsmanship (30 points) ____

Attitude/Effort (20 points) ____



Late Projects will result in 10 point deductions for each passing day of the deadline.

A final exam will be administered to students at the end of the semester. The final
will consist of a student created project and questions via paper/pencil, both of
which are related to the topics covered throughout the semester.
The final course average for each student will be tallied according to the policy
described in the NHS Handbook.
