NOTICE
The legal voters in the Town Meeting of the Town of West Rutland, Vt., are hereby warned to meet in the Town Hall, on Tuesday,
the 2nd day of March, A. D., 1937, at nine o'clock A. M., to act on the
following matters, to wit:
1. Shall the Town authorize the Selectmen to appoint one or
two Road Commissioners?
2. To choose all necessary town officers required by law.
3. (a) Shall license for the sale of malt and vinous beverages
be granted in this Town?
(b) Shall spirituous liquors be .rold in this Town?
4. Shall the Town vote a tax of five cents on the dollar for
library expenses?
5. Shall the Town vote to appropriate twenty per cent of the
highway fund for sidewalks?
6. Shall the Town vote, as required by law, to pay all ta.xes
direct to the Town Treasurer?
7. Shall the Town vote to appropriate a sum of money in addition to the amount now required by law, to take advantage .of the
State Aid La w, a nJ i.l so, how much?
8. Shall the Town vote to authorize the Selectmen to borrow
money for the temporary u.se of the Town?
9. Shall the Tov.'Il vote to raise money to pay current expenses
of the public :;chools, and if so, how much?
10. Shall the Town vote to raise money to pay current expenses
and indebtedness of the 'I own?
11. Shall the Town vote to exempt from taxes for a period of
ten years all and any new workshops, factories and mills in the same
whose construction will begin A. D., 1937, and will employ 25 or more
persons who are taxpayers in West Rutland?
12. Shall the Town vote to defray cost of surety bonds, where
bonds are require~ by law?
13. Shall the Town vote to authorize the Selectmen to sprinkle
the streets with some dust-laying preparation this coming summer?
14. Shall the Town vote to exempt from taxation for a period
of :five years, all buildings erected during the year A. D., 1937, used
and occupied exclusively as a home and appraised by the listers in
the Grand List, exclusive of land, not more than five thousand dollars
and not less than eight hundred dollars?
15. Shall the Town vote to appropriate the sum of fifty dollars
for the payment of expenses for the proper observance of Memorial
Day?
16. To transact any other necessary and legal business.
