Hello to our families
Thankyou everyone for your ongoing efforts to
support the Preschool. Thankyou to our Board
Members who show strength just when we need
it and are there for the `easy times as well. !
would like to thank the Board for keeping the
Preschool steady while ! managed a sad time in
the loss of my mother. Thankyou parents and
"taff for the kindness you have shown to me.
#o is doing a fabulous job in the $ffice. Thanks #o.

"taff presented some of the programs that
children are involved in and that we are
developing*
The children hosted visitors last week and
were most appropriate as some +ear &'
students learnt about some of the `what
we do and some of the `why.
,hris spoke about screen time limits and
recommendations. Please see website for

-os presented `Playwork theory. practice
and plans /based on the "wedish 0orrest
model of 1ducation.
2 new emphasis is unfolding in the
childrens Playspace.
Parents discussed sun protective shirts for
the children.

Thursday 0riday ,hildren
The children have not just hosted +r &' students
last week but guinea pigs as well< Thankyou =ill
and Menno and families. The visitors could not
but have been impressed with the mastery of the
logs. ball skills
and overhead ladder. =ell done to our children
and to 0iona. Mel and ,hris.
The children have been interested in insects.
"piders have featured. ,hildren have sourced their
own learning by bringing in books. pictures and
even a large dead spider< They have asked "taff
directly to set up `spider things.
Monday Tuesday =ednesday ,hildren
=endy has been doing poetry. drama cameos.
puppets and rhythm sticks with the children.
Music and movement has included percussion
work. >ew levels of concentration and confidence
are emerging. -os has been speaking to parents
about their childs progress and invites you to
make an appointment time.

The children have been learning to name
emotions and to talk about how they feel.
?reamtime stories have featured. =e continue to
host visitors often /including visiting Therapists;.
3ymnastics is an important part of the daily
routine and the children need to wear shoes with
a safe grip so that they dont slip on the
e8uipment. ,oughing into the elbow and
emergency drills have been practiced. This week
we are e4cited about the arrival of custom made
e8uipment for the children. 2ll out of recyclables
Thanks to ,hris and her team for this and for the
new games including the punching bag. Thanks to
1lijahs Mum for gardening.
Parents. you have kept us on our toes with
awareness of re7cycling. 2luminium is not a good
choice as ultimately it cannot easily be re7cycled.
`Many aluminium products are actually not recycled
towards the end of their life because it is too hard to
separate the components it is made of. Also, producing
it requires a lot of electricity/energy! Jelka)

This Preschool has long had a healthy eating
Policy. This enhances settledness and readiness for
learning. =ith increasing weight problems for
society at large and illness that can go with it e g
diabetes. 3overnment offers `Munch and Move
training for 1arly ,hildhood 1ducators. This builds
awareness of both eating and e4ercise as ways we
can further help our children and families. Mel

involved in similar programs over the last few
