Teaching Philosophy
Learning will be accomplished through the application of the principles.
Activities will combine text comprehension and assimilation, student facilitated
discussions, guest speakers, and oral presentation. Attendance, participation,
and preparation are critical components of successful course completion.
Course Description
Drama increases competence of efective communication, self-confdence, and
application of the signifcance of theatre histor. !urther emphasis will be
placed on participation, homework completion, and pro"ect completion.

+ccountability
Participation: )articipation refers to what each student contributes to the class
through verbal communication and non-verbal behaviors, including the
demonstration of active listening skills, critical thinking, and oral discussions.
Active in-class participation is an essential part of completing this course
successfull. :ou will receive three points ever da for class participation. $f
ou are distracted with technolog or conversation unrelated to the course
content, ou will receive a ;ero for participation that da.
Late Assignments: Assignments will be accepted for full credit up to one week
before the end of a <uarter. =owever, assignments will be given a ;ero in the
grade book until students come in during ofice hours and are present
throughout the amount of time it takes for me grade an given assignment. 'his
is a frst-come, frst-served basis. $f this is not completed during the allotted time,
the grade will remain a ;ero for the assignment.
Re-dos: -e-do+s are ofered for homework and pro"ects for students receiving a
96> or below.
Cheating: $ntegrit and ethics are paramount to achieving success in life.
*heating will not be permitted in class. *heating is taking credit for another+s
work, $f ou are caught cheating, ou will be sent to the ofice, and will have to
make up the test, <ui;, or assignment in detention. Additionall, ou will be
asked to complete an additional assignment on integrit and ethics.
Electronics: *ell phones are not accepted in class. *omputers must be put awa
until instructed.

cop and paste the fle into the ,nglish 1@ folder so ou know ou still have a
backup.
