The right to live
Everyone has the right to live and no one is allowed to take anyones life
away. Death penalty is a legal process whereby a person is put to death by the state as
a punishment for a crime. Defined by Wikipedia. Death penalty at this era is now
largely isolated only to small states but it is still more apparent than ever.
Death penalty has been used by all societies. It is a way to punish heavy crimes
like rape, murder, adultery, incest and the like. Centuries ago, it was recorded to be
implemented to give justice. It is believed to be just to take someones life whenever
they break the law or religious crimes. People started opposing death penalty when
they started to realize that it is somewhat unfair and injustice. Slowly, the states that
practice death penalty become fewer mostly because of religious beliefs and social
development. (NCAPD,2004)
My stand for death penalty would be that I am not in favor of this kind of
punishment. A lot have already suffered due to exile, most of them made it to our
history books. Jose Rizal as an example who was executed for only fighting for his
country and Jesus Christ who did nothing wrong but show compassion to the sinners
around the world. I believe that everyone should be given the chance to prove that they
can still change and they are worthy to still live their life making u for their mistakes.
Nothings ever final unless you stop breathing. No one has the right to get someones
life because in the first place it is not ours to begin with. Life is given to us and we
shouldnt just throw it away, we are alive cause we still have a purpose, we should make
ourselves better, make up for our mistakes, live life the fullest and not let anyone take
these opportunities away.
Death penalty should be considered a crime under murder. Even though the society
states that one should be executed, they are ignoring the chance of one to be morally
upright again. Everyone deserves a second chance, a chance to live life the right way and
a chance to mourn over their sins. Some may still go against my opinion and I dont
blame them. When hatred takes over and impulse, you would react in such a way that
will result to inhumane decisions. Killing a human is a mortal sin so sentencing someone
to death is also. To end my essay I would end with a quote that struck me the most,

Many that live deserves death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?
Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment.
