CONCLUSION

The main objective of this experiment was achieved. By using different type of materials and
techniques, we can subdue the noise level and control the noise produced at a desired level
for which overexposure of loud noise can cause deafness and sound pollution. For that
reason, the study of noise hazards and ways to reduce the noise hazards play an important
role to protect a person from noise hazards especially to those who work in environments
with prolonged loud noise exposure.
The experiment is conducted into two parts: without internal insulation and with internal
insulation whereby each of the parts were tested with three different motor speeds (the
slowest, medium and the highest speed). The results of this experiment are obtained by the
noise level detection (measured by alphabetical order) by the internal and the external
microphones mounted on the device.
The results of the experiment are evaluated by the effect of voltage applied to the motor and
the effect of sound-proofing materials. In short, as the speed of the motor increases (by the
effect of increasing the voltage to the motor), more noise is produced due to the increased in
kinetic energy and the device vibrations. There are several materials used in sound-proofing.
The absorbent lining is capable of absorbing the noise produced however low level of the
noise can be detected by the external microphone. The hard plug is able to contain the noise
produced within the enclosure since its hard surfaces reflect most of the sound produced.
The soft plug is able to absorb the noise produced however low level of the noise can be
detected by the external microphone. The plastic tube utilises its adjustable length to lower
the noise intensity since longer tube can reduce the number of vibrations per second.
