Biodiversity
(or the variety of life on earth)
is essential for human beings
Our land, water and forests provide us
with food, clean water, building
materials and other essentials and
underpin vital economic sectors such
as agriculture and tourism. For those
reasons alone we should strive to
protect what we have...raising
awareness of the issues is a vital step
in meeting our objectives and if we can
inform and influence the key players,
be it farmers, the business sector or the
wider public, of the connection between
biodiversity and the services they rely
on, we will improve the success of the
actions we must take.

Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Nov 2011
The Dublin Biodiversity Audio
Tour (DBAT) brings together
stories on 11 sites of interest to
nature-lovers, from community
gardens and city parks to
collections in museums and
botanic gardens.

The DBAT is a series of short,
free-to-download pod-cast audio
clips. By downloading individual
audio files to your personal audio
player or smart phone, the Trinity
Centre for Biodiversity Research
will lead you on a journey of
discovery through Dublin.

Whether you decide to visit all the
sites, touring between them on
Dublin Bus, Luas, Dart, or
Dublinbikes, or whether you listen
to them from the comfort of your
arm chair, we hope you will enjoy
finding out more about our green
city.
