Problem 1 The moments of inertia and product of inertia for the section shown with respect to the x y axes that pass through the centroid of the area have been calculated in HW-09.
Use those results to obtain: (a) Moments of inertia and product of inertia with respect to the x y axes, which are made by rotating the x y axes by 15 o
clockwise. (b) The principal moments of inertia and the angle p1 between x-axis and the 1-axis that produces the maximum moments of inertia. Draw the sketch of the 1 2 axes.
Problem 2 (a) Determine the moments of inertia and product of inertia for the section shown with respect to the x 0 y 0 axes that pass through the centroid of the area. (b) Determine the moments of inertia and product of inertia with respect to the x y axes, which are made by rotating the x o y o axes by 25 o counterclockwise. (c) Determine the principal moments of inertia and the angle p1 between x o axis and the 1-axis that produces the maximum moments of inertia. (d) Draw the sketch of the 1 2 axes.
Problem 3 Repeat Problem 1 using Mohrs circle.
Problem 4 Use the results of Problem 2 (a) to construct the Mohrs circle. Then use the Mohrs circle to obtain solve Problem 2(b) and 2(c).
