The CAV GT is a handcrafted recreation of the gritty, spirited
sixties super car that sped to victory at Le Mans a few times
over. In keeping with the ethos that pioneered the original
racing icon, the CAV GT has evolved through extensive
research and development. It now sports more than 40
enhancements.
The CAV GTs interior is as thrilling as its sleek exterior. Built
for performance, its stainless steel monocoque chassis is
TIG welded from CNC punched panels and features side
impact protection bars and an integrated roll bar. Fitted over
this gleaming nucleus is a low-slung Vinylester body that
is painstakingly shaped and sculpted to achieve the perfect form.
Its performance is vigour and velocity mainlined through a
small block Ford V8 producing well in excess of 400 hp,
driven through a 5- or 6-speed gearbox. An 8-branch header
exhaust system gives the engine maximum breathing
capacity. The end result of this is acceleration of 0-60mph
in 4,5 seconds and top speeds of 200mph.
Gut-wrenching exhilaration is mediated by superior
suspension that keeps the CAV GT glued to the road. Re-
designed front and rear uprights have been engineered to
withstand the rigors of racing conditions and there are now
16 adjustable rose-joints on the rear suspension alone.
Creature comforts have not taken a backseat to performance
engineering. Concessions have been made to allow for
greater head and legroom, good news for anyone up to
64. Ergonomically sound leather-clad adjustable seats
with original brass grommets invite luxury and plush interior
carpeting enhances the soundproof factor.
The CAV GT comes with a choice of customised features
that include colour variations, a road or racing car version
and engine and transaxle options. And for those who crave
the satisfaction of putting the pieces together themselves,
the CAV GT is available in component form too.
