Blog Post Rubric

As I implement blogging into my curriculum, I will utilize the expert advice provided by the website, blogs-in-k-12. This website experts
encourage teachers to evaluate the comments and responses that students leave on their peers blogs by first introducing students to the blog rubric
before assign the assignment. Also, provide examples for the students to model after and provide feedback to students regarding the comments
they post on their peers blog. Do not include information not covered in class, compare one students work to another, or include irrelevant items
on the rubric. The website, also describes arguments for why educators should assess blogs. The argue that blogs demonstrating the synthesis of
ideas and critical thinking, track progression of student work, and can be used to assess student comprehension. ('Assessing Student Blogs', 2014).
The Enhancing Teaching & Learning @ BGSU: Rubrics to Evaluate Classroom Blogging website main focus is to demonstrate blog possible uses
for teaching and learning outcomes while providing links to various websites used for evaluating student blogging. (Blogging, 2005)
Do you think that introducing students to the blogging rubric is beforehand is beneficial? If so how?
