4 CABLE METHOD

The insert loop is where your preamp gets involved. You plug a balanced stereo instrument
cable (if longer than 3 meters/feet) from the "send" of the insert loop to the main input of
your amp where you would normally plug in your guitar otherwise. Then you plug another
balanced stereo cable from the effects send of your amp to the "return" of the insert loop.
Then to finish the chain you plug a regular mono cable in the g-system's main "out" jack (there
are two if you want your output to be in stereo) and the other end of that cable plugs into the
"return" of your amp's effects loop. This is also known as the four-cable method (guitar + g-
system, g-system + preamp send and return, g-system + amp effects return).
