Changing Fragments into Sentences

Thanks for choosing one of my products!

This resource is easily adaptable to various
grade/ability levels depending upon how you
choose to use it.

It's easy to make this activity a bit more difficult as
needed by adding some extra requirements. You
can incorporate whatever else you might be
studying as students write their sentences.

J ust a few suggestions:

-Make a certain number of sentences into
compound sentences
-Underline all of the nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. in
your sentences
-Circle the subject and predicate in each sentence
-Include a certain number of vocabulary or spelling
words in each sentences

The possibilities are endless! Have fun thinking of new
ways to use this resource in your classroom. Enjoy!

Fixing a Summer Story

A fragment is a group of words that does
not express a complete thought.
Directions: Decide whether each group of words below is a sentence or a fragment. Write S
or F on the line. On page 2, fix this summer story by changing all of the fragments to
sentences. Keep the sentences as they are. Be sure your finished sentences go together in
order to tell the summer story.
1. The day was very sunny. _____

4. Holding her sunglasses. _____
5. She decided on a trip to the beach. _____
