Love you forever (Te voi iubi mereu)

A mother held her new baby and
slowly rocked him back and forth,
back and forth, back and forth.
And while she held him, she sang:
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long I'm living
my baby you'll be."
he baby grew. !e grew and he grew
and he grew. !e grew until he
was two years old, and he ran all around
the house. !e "ulled all the books
off the shelves. !e "ulled all the food
out of the refrigerator and he took his
mother's watch and flushed it down the
toilet. #ometimes his mother would say,
"his kid is driving me $RA%&'"
(ut at the night time, when that two)year)old
was *uiet, she o"ened the door to his room,
crawled across the floor,
look u" over the side of his bed+
and if he was really aslee" she "icked
him u" and rocked him back and forth,
back and forth, back and forth.
,hile she rocked him, she sang:
"I'll love you forever ,
I'll like you for always ,
As long I'm living
my baby you'll be."
he little boy grew. !e grew and he grew
and he grew. !e grew until he was nine
years old. And he never wanted to take a bath,
and when grandma visited he always
said bad words. #ometimes his mother
wanted to sell him to the -oo'
(ut at night time, when he was
aslee", the mother *uietly o"en the
door to the room, crawled across
the floor and look u" over the side of
the bed. If he was really aslee",
she "ick u" that nine)year)old boy
and rocked him back and forth,
back and forth, back and forth.
And while she rocked him, she sang:
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be."
he boy grew. !e grew and he
grew and he grew. !e grew until he was
a teenager. !e had strange friends
and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music.
#ometimes the mother felt like she
was in the -oo'
(ut at night time, when that teenager
was aslee", the mother o"ened the door
to his room, crawled acroos the
floor and looked u" over the side
of the bed. If he was really aslee" she
"ick u" that great big boy and rocked
him back and forth, back and forth,
back and forth.
,hile she rocked him, she sang
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be."
he teenager grew. !e grew and he
grew and he grew. !e grew until
he was a grown)u" man. !e left home
and got a house across town.
(ut sometimes on dark nights
the mother got into her car and drove
across town.
If all the lights in her son's house
were out, she o"ened his bedroom
window, crawled across the floor,
and look u" over the side of his bed,
If that great big man was really
aslee" she "icked him u" and rocked
him back and forth.
And while she rocked him she sang:
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long I'm living
my baby you'll be."
,ell that mother, she got older.
#he got older and older and older.
.ne day she called u" her son and said,
"&ou'd better come see me because
I'm very old and sick."
,hen he came in the door she tried
to sing the song. #he sang:
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always..."
(ut she couldn't finish because she
was too old and sick.
he son went to his mother.
!e "icked her u" and rocked her
back and forth, back and forth,
back and forth.
And he sang this song:
"I'll love you forever ,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my Mommy you'll be."
,hen the son came home
that night, he stood for a long time
at the to" of the stairs.
hen he went into the room
where his very new baby daughter
was slee"ing. !e "icked her u" in
his arms and very slowly rocked
her back and forth, back and forth,
back and forth.
And while he rocked her he sang:
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be."
